Deruta Umbria
The city in the form of a castle, famous throughout the world for its ceramics and majolica.
Deruta has become famous thanks to the precious ceramics produced by the town's craftsmen since medieval times. Impressive majolica can be admired in the majolica museum within the Palazzo Municipale.
Not to be missed are the Church of the Madonna delle Piagge, the Porta of St Michael Arch angel, the Church of St Francis, the Church of the Madonna del Divino Amore, the Church of St Antonio. Important also the paintings by Amorosi, Basiccio, Alunno and Stendardo.
