Villa Milani Spoleto

Villa Milani is situated a few kilometers from the historical centre of Spoleto, in a splendid position that dominates the medieval town and surrounded by eight hectares of meadows and woodland. The 19th century Villa has been skilfully restored and transformed in first-rate hotel, successfully combining the original features of the property with all the comforts of a home from home.

The villa was originally the country residence of the architect Giovanni Battista Milani, an eminent exponent of Roman architecture during the first decades of the twentieth century, who enlarged it according to the classical-renaissance fashion of the time, and furnished it according to his own refined taste and passion for ancient art.

Declared Historical Residence by the regional authorities of Umbria in December 1999, Villa Milani has a total of eleven elegantly furnished rooms, the most particular of which that located in the romantic Orion Tower. The room is accessed by an exquisite staircase with ornate wrought iron handrails. The first flight of stairs, decorated with precious 19th century prints, leads to a bathroom fitted with luxurious hydromassage bathtub. Another flight leads directly to the bedroom with truss wooden ceiling and large windows offering 360° views of the surrounding countryside.

From April to October light lunches are served in the relaxing atmosphere of the Italian garden or by the swimming pool. The dinner menu is based on traditional local dishes prepared with home-made fresh pasta, vegetables from the kitchen garden, extra virgin olive oil obtained from the properties olive trees, fresh truffles, mushrooms and wild asparagus from the land and woods surrounding the Villa.
