Torre Almonte Todi

The origins of Torre Almonte date all the way back to the middle ages, when the massive stone tower was built as part of a complex defence system designed to guard over Todi, one of Umbria's most important cities. Today, on completion of extensive restoration work, the ancient tower has been transformed in stunning hotel.

The owners' bold decision to combine the building's ancient, medieval architecture with the sleekest of contemporary interior design, has resulted in a quite unique Italian retreat. Within Torre Almonte's centuries-old walls guests can expect to find not only the sleekest of modern furnishings but also the very latest in modern technology. Torre Almonte is a decidedly exclusive property, offering luxurious accommodation in just two suites and two apartments, all of which boast spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Each of the apartments has its own fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms fitted with whirlpool bathtubs.

Torre Almonte stands on the summit of a small hill, surrounded by a large park and the breathtaking landscapes of Umbria. Like the tower, the property's charming 19th century gardens have been painstakingly restored. On the terrace, immersed by the colors and scents of Torre Almonte's antique rose garden, there is a panoramic swimming pool, where to relax in the sunshine and contemplate the rolling Umbrian countryside.

The dining room, situated on the ground floor of the tower, has just one large dining table, at which the finest Umbrian cuisine is served, either in the form of traditional dinners or tastings of typical gastronomic products and wines. Cooking courses are available on request. Private religious ceremonies are still performed, again on a request basis, in Torre Almonte's intimate 18th century oratory.
